Ulysses Crewmen is a long two act play by Rex Winsome, about restrained rationalism, gay marriage, gentrification, electoral politics, globalization, terrorism, torture and the historical development of the theatre medium. Okay, well, really, it's not about any of those things, really it's about... yep, you guessed it: political action and violence. When is Rex going to want to write about something new? When he runs out of things to say on that subject, which won't be until after the revolution, bitches.

"It's the thing I've been working since before I wrote plays. Everything else I've written has been preparation for this fucking thing. It's gonna hurt you, if it doesn't kill me first."

The current status of Rex's gigantic brain-baby: took a weeklong trip to Oaxaca Mexico. On the bus to Oaxaca started reading the script. Hated it, couldn't beleive i had worked so hard for so long and only managed to create an awkward, confusing, mess of a script. Threw it aside and anjoyed my vacation. On the airplane back home a week later, took it out again, had a sudden revelation of a few simple changes that would straighten out all the awkwardness and finally make the plot jive properly with the themes. It was the most joyous plane ride EVER.
